The announcement of the Workers’ Union states:
The employees of Th.P.K. “I MERIMNA”, continue their mobilizations and are proceeding for a second week in a 48-hour strike on Monday 15/7/2024 and Tuesday 16/7/2024.
In the last twelve months, the employees of Th.P.K. “I MERIMNA” are in a unique hostage situation, where they are asked to survive with an opening in their payroll of at least two months. This means in practice that they are required to cover the survival needs of their families with half of their agreed salary.
At the same time, the understaffing of the Center creates a very stressful, stressful and exhausting working environment for the employees.
They claim:
- their self-evident right to be paid for their work and
- that the Center be adequately staffed, in order to provide the prescribed services in a safe environment for the beneficiaries and the employees.
As announced, they are proceeding with a 48-hour strike on 15 and 16/7/2024 and will continue with repeated 48-hour strikes on 22 and 23/7/2024 and 29 and 30/7/2024 and until the debts to the workers are paid.
