The climate prevailing in the surgeries of “Agios Andreas” is characterized as particularly toxic. Some of the surgeons are said to be using “scalpels” against the nursing staff as well.
The main source of the problem seems to be non-observance of operating room regulations by some surgeons. The “Trade Union Change” faction highlights the issue with its announcement, characterizing the behavior of some doctors towards the staff as “unacceptable and provocative”.
“We learn that the behavior of some doctors in the operating room, towards the staff there, is not at its best. They act like they are their own boss. A situation that clearly should stop immediately.” In fact, the representatives of the faction accuse the administration of the Workers’ Union of inaction, while noting that several of the staff members of the surgeries are seeking to move to another place due to the prevailing situation.
When asked by “Peloponnisos”, the president of the Workers’ Union, Michalis Stellatos, who is also a nurse in the operating rooms, replied that: “It is a fact that the situation is often out of order. Unfortunately, the behavior of certain surgeons towards the nursing staff is very bad. Certainly operating rooms are a place with a lot of tension, but that doesn’t mean that one should lash out at the other.” Mr. Stellatos said that the issue has already been raised with the hospital’s administration, with a request to take measures.
