A solo exhibition of work by Panagiotis Stathopoulos opens on Thursday, June 13, at 8 pm in Polyhedros. Works from the final 5 years are offered, most of them painted with dry pastels. However some ink drawings and a few giant watercolors are additionally included.
The tasks are divided into three sections: Studying the Time, Wild Gardens and Ephemeral Towers.
Within the first part, Studying the Time, by simplified parts which are repeated in several compositions and coloration combos, an elementary narrative emerges.
Within the second, Wild Gardens, the pictures appear exuberant and sophisticated, compositions with plant parts created by an extended means of simplification and sculpting.
The Ephemeral Towers derive their theme from the cheerful indifference of kids’s play to everlasting and imposing constructions.
