Yesterday, Wednesday, February 28, the 100-year Jubilee was held in the packed Pantheon cinema hall! – concert of the oldest choir of Patras and one of the oldest in Greece, “Orfea”.
Under the direction of the elite conductors of the group’s formations – Linas Geronikos for the mixed formation Coro Avanti and Philippa Papadopoulos for the Male Choir, who were accompanied by the famous Ensemble of Musical Creation “Evikoon Melos” of Giorgos Georgiadis and Sanis Petta, heard well-known and unknown timeless songs that thrilled the audience. At the end of the event, conductors Ilias Papadopoulos, Nondas Faratzoulis, Dinos Lagoumitzis and choirmaster Giorgos Zoitsakis were awarded for their many years of contribution to the “ORFEA” Music Club.
The event was presented by chorister Eleftherios Specieris and prefaced by the president and chorister of “ORFEA” Antonis Christopoulos, and the authorities of the city of Patras, led by Mayor Kostas Peletidis, as well as a representative of the Metropolitan of Patras, Mr. Chrysostomou, were honored with their presence.
