Patras: Informing the children of the children’s camps of the Municipality, about the Seatrac PHOTOS

An information and awareness program for children of the day camps of the Municipality of Patreon in Plaz, was organized a few days ago by the Disabled Persons Office of the Municipality. The children were informed about the accessibility of people with disabilities, and the use of the electric Seatrac machine that is placed by the Social Organization of the Municipality on Plaz beach.

The children watched a short film entitled “Two Shoes with a Stroller” based on the book of the same name by N. Andrikopoulos and starring the students of the 6th grade of the 3rd Elementary School of Philippiada. In the film, Lazaros Eavtoulis lives happily in the country “Timenoiazeimena” but at some point he is forced to live in a country called “The Rolling Republic of the Possible”…

In this particular tale, the attitude of the average person towards people with disabilities, the lack of respect and the violation of their rights is shown. The person’s attitude changes when he finds himself in a difficult position and faces the difficulties that these people experience in their daily lives.

The children had the opportunity to be informed, sensitized and express themselves, with the ultimate goal of cultivating respect for people with disabilities and awareness of the barriers we set up for them in their daily lives.

Afterwards, the children visited the electric Seatrac ecological machine, where Iulia Syrokosta, doctor of Infectious Diseases, municipal councilor and Head of the Municipality’s Office for the Disabled, informed the children about the usefulness of the machine and the necessity of its protection by all of us.
