In the context of raising awareness of the local community, on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day, on 28/07/2024, and mainly targeting the population groups that exhibit addictive behaviors as par excellence high-risk groups, the Mobile Intervention Unit of OKANA in Patras will carry out an informational activity, the Thursday, August 1, 2024 and time 10:00 – 13:00, at Square of National Resistance (“Olgas”) in Patras.
Specifically, rapid antibody tests for the detection of hepatitis C will be carried out, free of charge by the doctor and nurses of the Mobile Intervention Unit OKANA Patras.
In the context of the holistic approach to dealing with addictions, OKANA plans, implements and participates in very important health promotion and public health defense programs, including the “TITYOS” program, through which hepatitis C screening is carried out among the beneficiaries of treatment units of OKANA.
The officers of the Mobile Intervention Unit will be available to citizens for information on matters concerning both hepatitis (causes, methods of treatment) and addiction in general.
