Readers recently contacted “Peloponnisos” and commented on the poor condition in which the wooden observatory in the Plaz area has been in recent days.
Those who passed by for a walk on the weekend saw quite a lot of rubbish and filth near the wooden building, which makes a bad impression on all visitors.
In addition, the image of the wider area is being altered, where the Municipality has proceeded with regeneration and has given the citizens another option.
“Peloponnisos” contacted yesterday the Deputy Mayor of Cleanliness Michalis Anastasiou, who is knowledgeable about the issue and is taking steps to find a solution.
Michalis Anastasiou said: “I know the problem in the area and there is indeed garbage, the majority of which comes from a homeless woman who lives in the observatory. We have taken action as a Municipality, we have expelled her, but she is coming back and it is a matter that concerns us. The municipal authority will try to guard its property and we will do the same in the Plaz area. There are thoughts to make patrols by municipal staff with the aim of stopping this situation and soon we will be able to say more.”
