Dionysian rhythms will dominate Tsiknopemptis in Patras. And that’s because the guest of KEDIP – Patras Carnival for the day will be Banda Entropica, based in Thessaloniki in recent years we meet them at all festivals.
It’s regarding traditional street band which unites clarinet, saxophone, accordion and tambourine in a complex of traditional and modern Balkan music. Having as based on the sounds of Macedonia, Thrace, Epirus but also all of her Balkan Peninsulamoves to dance rhythms with traditional songs as well as original compositions.
the band started its journey from the streets of Thessaloniki while then a multitude of appearances were added at music venues in the city as well as at major festivals. In an environment where tradition is an integral part of everyday life, either as a song or as a dance, every performance of the band has a dynamic dimension with intense interaction between musicians and listeners.
Traditional music works in a very Dionysian way and gives the world the ability to externalize emotions it so desperately needs.
The band consists of Filippo Fasoula (clarinet and voice), Tasso Gentzi (saxophone), Rafo Gentzi (accordion) and Billy Malegano (percussion) and Irini Goutzaki (vocals).
It is noted that in 2021 the band released its first CD entitled “Banda Entopica”, with dances from the region of Macedonia and Thrace.
