A patient (24) threatened hospital employees in the Bludenz state hospital on Tuesday night with a pistol and a baton. The staff fled the room with another patient and locked the door from the outside. The 24-year-old then fled through the window and jumped onto a flat roof four meters below. Ultimately, following regarding three hours, he was caught in a forest by the Cobra task force.
As the ORF Vorarlberg reported on Tuesday followingnoon with reference to police spokesman Rainer Fitz, the man’s motive is still completely in the dark. Fitz confirmed the report when asked by APA. Apparently, the 24-year-old got angry shortly before 11 p.m. and might not be calmed down. Suddenly he pulled the pistol and baton out of his backpack.
After jumping onto the flat roof, the man first entered the hospital once more. Through an exit he got outside once more and sat down in the adjacent forest. The police, who were deployed in large numbers, searched for the 24-year-old with a thermal imaging camera, drone and dogs, and he was arrested around 2 a.m.
