Pathan’s 600-crore business: ‘If someone asked, they would say Khan had come’

‘The figures of the past are of no importance, there is no figure of the future which cannot be crossed. The whole world is waiting for Shah Rukh, more importantly we are working on a great film with great songs.’

This was written by musician Vishal Dadlani on 21 March 2021 while tweeting his picture with Shahrukh Khan. This was the announcement of the storm that ‘Pathan’ It hit the box office and broke many records۔

Director Siddharth Anand’s action-thriller Pathan has maintained its winning streak on the box office chart for the seventh consecutive day, which is not letting up at both the domestic and international levels.

The film earned Rs 21 crore on its seventh day of release and according to Box Office India, the film’s collection in India alone has reached Rs 315 crore. Along with this, ‘Pathan’ became the fastest Hindi film to cross the 300 crore mark in the domestic market. Earlier, ‘Baahubali 2’ crossed this milestone in 10 days and ‘GF 2’ in 11 days.

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathan’ is also raising flags at the global level. The spy film under the Yash Raj banner has already crossed the Rs 500 crore mark in the first weekend and has already entered the Rs 600 crore club in the first three days as the second week begins.

This is Shah Rukh Khan Expressing his happiness, one of his fans wrote on Twitter, ‘If someone asked, it was Khan who came, King Khan and not Pakistan.’

It is a normal activity for stars to go on various TV shows and promote the film before the release of the film, but the case of ‘Pathan’ was different. None of the big stars, including Shah Rukh Khan and Deepka Padukone, gave any interviews, and there was no press conference regarding the film before its release. The curiosity created by the ‘shameless color’ and the boycott campaign of Hindu extremists remained till the end. Thus silence proved to be the best strategy and people flocked to cinemas to find answers to their questions.

After the extraordinary success of the Pathans, a function was finally organized in which King Khan in particular spoke freely. Along with Shah Rukh, Deepika, John Abraham and director Siddharth Anand were also present in this press conference.

On this occasion, Shah Rukh Khan did not forget to mention the failure and difficult days of his previous film.

In 2018, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Zero’ was such a disaster at the box office that King Khan suddenly became Zero from a hero and the business of the film also took its own name. Recalling that time, King Khan said, ‘After Zero, my self-confidence was shaken and sometimes I was scared.’

After the failure of ‘Zero’ came the corona virus which brought the cinema industry to a standstill like other businesses. According to Shah Rukh during this time, ‘I did not work. I stayed with my children. I watched them grow up. My previous film did not work and people said that my films will not work now. So I thought of an alternative career and learned to cook Italian food.’

King Khan knows the art of imparting knowledge in simple words. Star gods appear alive in the glare of lights. We forget that they are also human beings whose lives in their own way go through all the conditions that we common people like you go through. This reference was present in his conversation.

Recalling his bad days, he said, ‘Everybody has good days and bad days in life, life is like that, it’s meant to be like that, I had bad days too.

My elders used to tell me that whenever something bad happens in your life, don’t go to your work colleagues, don’t go to those people who advise you on what to do and how to do it, but to them. Go to the people who love you.’

His house called ‘Mant’ in Bombay is always thronged with devotees where he is present for darshan of his deity. During the conversation, King Khan also revealed that the balcony of his house is not only his fans’ favorite place but also his favorite place.

According to him, “Whenever I am sad, I come to my balcony where there are thousands of people who love me, even when I am sad, I come to the balcony and it is God’s grace on me that he has has given me a ticket to this balcony for life.’

But now he is very happy with the extraordinary success of ‘Pathan’. He received such love from his fans that he said, ‘I have forgotten the last four years in these four days.’

The success of ‘Pathan’ continues and it is on its way to create a new history in the race of figures. Of course, these records will be broken too. But is ‘Pathan’ more than a new milestone at the box office? This question is yet to be answered, my friend.
