Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), in coordination with the Municipality of Asunción, is advancing with maintenance work on Defensores del Chaco Avenue, a key artery in the metropolitan area of Asunción.
According to the MOPC report, the work carried out, which includes patching and signage, covers about 13 kilometers, from the Petropar plant in Villa Elisa to the superviaduct in Asunción.
The patching work is expected to begin next week on the section between Petropar and the 4 Mojones viaduct, as part of a second phase of repairs promoted by the Road Maintenance Department.
Meanwhile, work continues in specific sections of the route between 4 Mojones and the superviaduct. This stage concluded with the milling of a very deteriorated section of approximately 100 meters, in front of the Mercado de Abasto.

These tasks will be supplemented by the repainting of horizontal traffic signs along the entire route, which will be carried out by the Road Safety Department.
These works will begin once the patching repairs have been completed on each section. The work will include repainting the edge lines, centre lines, islands and pedestrian stripes, as well as replacing signage in the sectors where it is required.
In parallel to the road work, there is a permanent presence of the Municipal Traffic Police (PMT) of Asunción, responsible for traffic regulation in the construction area.
