The Polish company has prepared a series of announcements regarding its latest little protected, which should be devoted to its arrival on next-gen and perhaps to its DLC originally planned. It is true that the development of the game experienced a huge brake following its release, weighed down by many bugs that got the better of the ambition of the game. After its completely failed launch at the end of 2020, Cyberpunk took the complicated path of redemption. After several years spent fixing old-gen versions that were close to being unplayable on release, the Polish studio may have finally managed to get out of a complex situation. It may be time for this ambitious open-world RPG to step up and show us the full extent of its potential. It is true that the game had promised us many DLCs and content that had to live for several years. With the arrival of next-gen consoles last year, a new era is dawning for both the game and the studio.

Next-gen versions confirmed

It was with several minutes of gameplay that CD Projekt Red opened its conference this Tuesday at 4 p.m. With a surprise that was not a surprise: game sequences on Playstation 5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. A demonstration of the ability of these new generation consoles to take on the very demanding graphics engine of Cyberpunk 2077. Good of course, these versions will arrive with patch 1.5, which will bring next-gen versions, free DLCs on all platforms. Additionally, players will have the option to upgrade their save from the PS4 version to the PS5 version. The manipulation has not yet been detailed. The next-gen versions will have two game modes: performance, or ray-tracing.

As you will have understood, Cyberpunk will receive its 1.5 patch, which brings in addition to next-gen updates, a total rework of the skill tree. This will allow players to redistribute their skill points into new, more effective areas. This patch will rebalance the fight and make it “more fair” according to the CD Projekt Red teams. Players will also have the opportunity to discover new skills and new ways of playing, such as throwing a knife for example. Update 1.5 also brings changes to the behavior of the AI ​​in combat and in the city, to make them more “intelligent, lively and efficient” in the words of the CD Projekt Red teams. Add to that small details like neon circles on the bikes in game, a new driving system (slip possibilities, less unpredictable driving…), apartment customization and UI improvements. A patch that should weigh around 15 Gb, et which is already available.
