Former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson (55), nicknamed ‘Nuclear Fist’, swung his fist at a passenger on the same plane.
On the 21st (local time), the American entertainment and sports media outlet TMZ Sports reported that Tyson, who was boarding a flight from San Francisco to Florida the day before, assaulted a passenger in the back seat before the flight took off.
Initially, it was reported that Tyson took a picture with victim A, who recognized him, and had a brief conversation.
But Mr. A, sitting right behind Tyson, started to get on his nerves. A video filmed by a passenger, presumed to be Mr. A’s party, showed Mr. A, who got up from his seat, talking to Tyson, who was seated in front, with exaggerated movements.
Mr. A kept talking to Tyson even following he sat down. Tyson accepted with a smile at first, but his expression hardened. However, Mr. A didn’t care and joked regarding his party’s camera.
Tyson eventually exploded. He got up from his seat and punched A several times. The fist baptism stopped only following the person sitting next to him grabbed Tyson’s arm and said, “Calm down.” The assault left Mr. A with a bruise on his face. Mr. A also showed blood on his forehead on the camera of the party. Tyson got off the plane on his own right following the incident, and it is said that Mr. A received first aid and went to the police investigation.
Tyson’s spokesperson said the passenger in the back seat was intoxicated and did not stop provocation. Tyson spokesman Joe Minnano said: “The passenger in question not only harassed Tyson but also threw a water bottle.”
It is not known whether Tyson has been arrested or not. However, federal law prohibits passengers from attacking other passengers or crew members, and if a passenger attacks another passenger, he might be punished, the Washington Post said.
