Kannur:Vandebharat makes passengers ‘drink water’. But the passengers leave the bottled water without drinking it. In this way, more than 100 liters of ‘Railneer’ a day are wasted by the passengers of Vandebharat. Railways charge a liter of bottled water (Rail Neer) along with the ticket price on Vandebharat Express.

From Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram, every passenger who rides it will get a water bottle on the seat. A water bottle will also be provided to those who do not book food along with the ticket. But many people hesitate to use it. IRCTC charges this on the ticket. Many are not aware that bottled water is provided.

Once the Kasarakote Vandebharat arrives, the sanitation workers change hundreds of water bottles. The reality is that most short-haulers in Vandebharat do not use water. Drink a little and leave the rest. Passengers are advised to give a half liter bottle to the needy. Whether passengers drink bottled water or not, there is no loss to the Railways. GST on water in the ticket. The rate is inclusive.

Kasarkot, the last station, also has problems with sanitation. At present, cleaning workers from Mangaluru are removing the boats left by the passengers on the seats and other things inside the train. But it is the contract cleaners of Kasaragod station who have to separate the things including the water bottle inside the train box.
