The passage of tropical wave No. 51 in recent days over the entity of Merida, alerts were raised due to the damage that occurred in the municipalities of Aricagua, Libertador, Rivas Dávila, and Andrés Bello, activating the Risk Management Committee of the Mérida State Directorate of Civil Protection, reported the director of PC Mérida, Luis Lobo Sivoli.
“In the Santa Catalina and Buenos Aires Ramal sectors, a mass movement affected a home.” There was also movement of rock material and sediment on the road between Aricagua and Mérida, interrupting traffic in the area, reported Lobo Sivoli, adding that in the Rivas Dávila municipality, evaluations were carried out confirming that there were no affected homes.
Added to these situations is the damage to the roads in the San Eusebio sector, Andrés Bello municipality, where a sewer gave way, taking away almost the entire road, preventing vehicular traffic in the area.
