When Nikos Androulakis was asked in the previous period if he expected what is happening internally in PASOK, he said “to a certain extent I was prepared because what is appearing today was a key issue of many obstacles that we faced in the previous period. It would just be nice, because going from 8% to 13% takes a lot of struggle, but going from 8% to 6% takes nothing. Let’s be fair in our assessment.”
He continued by saying that “I have been president for 2.5 years. In 2.5 years, PASOK grew, won in self-government, won by constantly increasing its percentages. Indeed, in the European elections, we rose. I too expected – and I do not settle for 13% – to do even better. When you make a fair criticism – because we all love the faction, at least that’s what I think – you have to say what the “other” way is. It would be good, since there are no magic tricks in politics, to tell us how it will be done. With my own plan, I managed to get PASOK from 8% to 13%, to take the big municipalities, to settle our debts. We are an autonomous political pole.”
