The list of executives of PASOK-Movement for Change in Achaia, who “co-sign” the candidacies of contenders for leadership in the party, is getting longer, recording on the one hand movements in relation to the previous intra-party confrontation and on the other intense whispers in the “green” square about positions and “underground” pre-election behaviors.
FAVORITES
To date, the climate in “special” Achaia – due to the region’s history in the center-left – does not appear to be identical with the nationwide internal party characteristics, and this is because the presidential candidates, who seem to have “the upper hand”, do not they are exactly the same!
From all sides it is accepted in the “Peloponnisos” that those who have a clear lead are Mr Androulakis, Doukas and Katrinis, with the sunny MP having entered a “wedge” also due to the proximity and the ties he has developed with party officials in Western Greece, in general.
To these three candidate leaders should be added, as rising in Achaia, Mrs. Diamantopoulouwith the observers of internal party developments seeing a constantly growing dynamic, mainly in Aegialia, due to the support provided -openly and dynamically- by the former Deputy Minister and Member of Parliament Kostas Spiliopoulos.
THE “SHUSSOURO”
However, at the local level, “Peloponnisos” records and a series of gaps in the support of PASOK leadership contenders, although this is estimated to probably change as, in time, we get closer to the October 6 internal party elections.
It is therefore strongly debated that the politician Katerina Solomou and the mayor of Western Achaia Grigoris Alexopoulos – although they are considered very close to president Androulakis – they have not yet declared this publicly! The arbitrary explanation of this – although it may be a temporary stop – is interpreted by many as the result of discussions or searches, which they may have with other candidates!
The “TRIPLETA”
There is, however, another category of party officials, who not only do not support one or one of the candidates, but two or even three! Among them are some of the so-called “Team Katsifara”who distribute forces to Mr Duke, Gerulano and Katriniswith the latter “enjoying” significant benefits due to the active support he provided as an MP in the 2015, 2019, 2023 Regional Elections.
THE “SPACE”
The acceptance by the Prefectural Committee of PASOK of Achaia, instead of its place to welcome the candidate for president a few days ago, also caused many comments P. Geroulano at the Offices of the Regional Branch of Sp. Skiadaresi, with present party officials who in the local elections of October had not obeyed the anointing of PASOK, but were on the side of the one supported by SYRIZA K. Karpeta. The case of the candidate with the latter is mentioned as characteristic Pericles Floropoulou, supporter of K. Geroulanos today!
THE TEAMS
Without absoluteness, but based on public statements or their reports in the internal party environment, “P” presents today the “radiography” of Achaia.
> With Nikos Androulakis: Nikos Moiralis, Giorgos Karvouniaris, Yiannis Tapeinos, Stavroula Michalopoulou, Gavrilis Charazidis, half of the Prefectural Committee and, unexpectedly, Katerina Solomou and Grigoris Alexopoulos.
> With Harry Doukas: Marinos Skandamis, Giorgos Beskos, Andreas Kelepouris, Thanasis Giannadakis, Panagiotis Marinopoulos and the other half of the Prefecture, but also Apostolis Katsifaras, without any public intervention.
> With Anna Diamantopoulou: Kostas Spiliopoulos, Thanos Karpis, Andreas Bachras, Kostas Charisiadis, Giorgos Kolliopoulos, Stavros Koumbias, Angela Triantaphyllou, Takis Andrikopoulos, Yannis Delis, Mitsos Dimitropoulos, Dimitris Komninos, Gianna Mamonas, Safis Mouzakis, Sotiris Taxi Archopoulos and Maria Tsoukala.
> With Pavlos Geroulanos: Olympia Loi, Christos Solomos, Giorgos Mantzavas, Dimitra Basta, Diamantis Kanellopoulos, Dimitris Verras and several candidates of Sp. Skiadaresis, who were present at his gathering, in Patras, as it is arbitrarily interpreted.
Michalis Katrinis he has many supporters, mainly in Patras, but they keep a low profile, which ranks him perhaps in the top three or four in Achaia
Nadia Giannakopoulou it does not appear to have a foothold in the area.
