PASOK: Diamantopoulou announces her candidacy on Tuesday 2024-07-16 11:03:39

With Anna Diamantopoulou, there are eight candidates for PASOK leadership as Nikos Androulakis, Haris Doukas, Pavlos Geroulanos, Milena Apostolaki, Michalis Katrinis, Nadia Giannakopoulou and Yannis Kanellakis have already declared their participation. According to information, Anna Diamantopoulou will explain the reasons she took this decision and will emphasize that the next president of PASOK should be ready to be prime minister.

Mrs. Diamantopoulou recently stated on SKAI radio that she “will not be absent” from the proceedings and some latest information wants her to announce her candidacy on Tuesday.

For their part, Nikos Androulakis, Haris Doukas and Pavlos Geroulanos continue the pre-election battle. The president of PASOK was in Syros over the weekend and so far he is directing his fire at the government. With a post on Facebook, citing an IELKA survey that one in two will not take a vacation due to the increased cost of tickets and accommodation, the president of PASOK attacked the government regarding accuracy.

The mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, was at the weekend in Preveza, Kozani and Ioannina, while Pavlos Geroulanos is in contact with people from PASOK.

In an interview he gave to “Political”, Mr. Doukas said: “If I believed that the victory in the municipality of Athens might not be repeated in the national elections, I would not be a candidate for the leadership of PASOK. I believe it and believe it more and more, seeing how the political scene is shaping up. The broad and colorful social majority, which signed the victory of Athens, also exists at the national level”.

In fact, he predicts that following the leadership election, PASOK can shoot up its percentages.

For his part, Pavlos Geroulanos, speaking to Mega, referred to his plan for the country, saying that he has a comprehensive program for the changes that the state administration needs and for the changes that this productive model needs. “I want to discuss this proposal, which I have submitted for a long time,” he said, while in another interview he noted: “Our opponent is not one of our co-candidates. It is the policy of the ND.”

The remaining candidates Michalis Katrinis, Nadia Giannakopoulou, Milena Apostolaki and Yiannis Kanellakis have also started collecting signatures for their candidacy.

In fact, the electronic platform, created by Northern Sector MP Milena Apostolaki on her personal website, has already been put into operation, for the collection of signatures in support of her candidacy for the presidency of PASOK, in the internal party elections of October 6.
