Following storm Ciaran, 247 municipalities in northern France were affected by flooding. The lull this Saturday finally allows us to hope for a return to normal.

Tossed around since Tuesday between torrential rains and the comings and goings of floods, which caused thousands of victims, Pas-de-Calais experienced a day without bad weather on Saturday, which made it possible to‘observe the beginning of a decline on the rivers most at risk in the north of France.

Only the Aa, a river on which a peak is still expected during the day, was kept on red alert by Vigicrues. The Liane and the Canche, the cause of flooding for several days, have returned to orange vigilance. “The lull is underway“, it is planned until Sunday followingnoon and allows us to observe a decline, upstream of the most reactive sections”, notes the monitoring organization in a bulletin on Saturday.
