The Partouche casino group saw its turnover increase by 4.1% in the third quarter of its staggered 2022-2023 financial year, thanks to an increase in attendance at its establishments.
Between May and July 2023, the second largest French casino operator (behind the Barrière group), with 41 establishments operated and 3,900 employees, recorded a turnover of 105.1 million euros. “We see that there is really a renewed desire to have fun and take your mind off things, to go to places where we do our best to have a good time.», Commented to AFP, Fabrice Paire, chairman of the management board of the Partouche group. He judges the progress of the activity “satisfactory», especially since the basis of comparison has returned to normal: it was until then complicated by the obligation to present a “vaccination pass” to go to the casino until spring 2022, which had discouraged certain customers.

Gross gaming revenue on the rise
A key indicator of the sector, gross gaming product (GRP), or the difference between players’ stakes and their winnings, increased by 6.5% to 178.7 million euros over the quarter. In France, where attendance is up 4.8%, GGR increases by 5.6%, to 161.5 million euros, including +5.3% for slot machines, +6.8% for traditional games and +9.8% for electronic forms of games. Abroad, the GGR recorded an increase of +15.1% over one year to 17.2 million euros, with a “very good performance» for Swiss online games (+47.8% to 4.2 million euros). “We also have an establishment in Djerba in Tunisia which worked very well this summer, which clearly illustrates the phenomenon of resumption of tourist attendance this summer.», according to Fabrice Paire.
Partouche will publish its fourth quarter results on December 12, following the stock market closes. The company is celebrating its 50th anniversary throughout 2023, by hosting festive evenings every month in its establishments.
