It will be built in three phases over a total area of 330 hectares. The purpose of the SEZ will be the local processing of wood on this site, where agro-processing, logistics, packaging, construction materials, raw materials into high value-added products and other industries will be developed. transformation.
This agreement is expected to contribute to the implementation of Rwanda’s industrialization agenda and the creation of trade and industrial value chains. Located at a strategic location, the area will be 10 km from the new international airport of Bugesera, which should be the largest airport in the country, and 50 km from Kigali, a place, which has become a key economic and cultural center in the region. .

The structure also manages Gabon’s special economic zone (GSEZ), focused on the timber industry, where 120 investors have joined the project and 16,000 jobs have been created.
