THE Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) is currently evaluating the nomination of Anies Baswedan-Sohibul Imam in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. The plan is that on Sunday (11/8), PKS will announce the party’s definite stance, including replacing Anies with another candidate to be nominated.
“Yes, we are currently evaluating. So we will wait for the announcement of the certainty of Mr. Anies’ replacement the day after tomorrow,” said Deputy Secretary General of the PKS DPP Zainudin Paru in his statement, Friday (9/8).
Zainudin, who is also the Secretary of the PKS DPP Regional Head Candidate Selection Team, explained that with the August 4, 2024 deadline for Anies to get a coalition party to complete 4 PKS seats out of 22 seats required for 20% of regional head candidates, the party must determine another stance. When asked about PKS’s involvement in the KIM plus, Zainudin was reluctant to answer.
“That will be a question for later, including who we nominate, whether from our cadres or not, we will see later.”
As the party’s spokesperson, Zainudin Paru expressed his gratitude for the togetherness of Anies Baswedan and PKS so far in leading and developing Jakarta.
“We pray for the best for Mr. Anies and PKS. Hopefully all the efforts that have been made are recorded as good deeds for the good and progress of the beloved Indonesian nation in the future,” he said. (J-2)
