“Faced with the development of companies in Morocco and the increased need for profiles with high added value, both on the technological and managerial aspects, there is a deficit of engineers in the country which is set to increase. Some companies are at the forefront of certain technologies such as Indexar or Drupal and therefore cannot find the profiles necessary to work on them, which leads them to look for them elsewhere. It shows that IT candidates established abroad are not once morest returning to Morocco”, explains Chantal Aounil, general manager of the recruitment firm Potential for Africa with Eco Life.

Companies such as Alten Maroc, a subsidiary of the world leader in engineering and technology consulting, initiated this professional dynamic several years ago. “Our presence in more than 30 countries in the world allows us to find profiles established abroad and who wish to come or return to Morocco”, confides Hajar Bououd, HRD of the group. According to him, recruiting these profiles has advantages. “They bring valuable expertise and international experience in a globalized environment. This approach allows us to contribute to diversity and inclusion within the company. The experience of these consultants also makes it possible to acquire greater maturity within the project teams,” he adds.

Attracting MRE IT profiles requires local companies to make an effort. “The most effective long-term way to stem this flight is above all to give them a ‘reason to stay or come back’: that is to say, to ensure them better jobs with added value and meaning, more prospects and living comfort, an environment and an international network… all from Morocco,” says Badr Molato, recruitment manager at Capgemini TS. According to Chantal Aounil, it is necessary to take into consideration the pecuniary aspect. Other proposals: set up a digital infrastructure that makes it possible to track results factually, provide access to quality training that allows you to progress and agree to change your managerial model to give more flexibility in the work.
