Part of the country placed under yellow alert for thunderstorms, locally intense showers expected

The Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) has issued its yellow thunderstorm alert for part of the country, in effect Friday followingnoon from 5:00 p.m. until Saturday 4:00 a.m.

The alert concerns the provinces of Liège, Namur, Luxembourg, Walloon Brabant, Antwerp, Limburg, Flemish Brabant and Brussels.

The IRM expects downpours that can be (very) locally intense and stormy, with accumulations that can exceed 10 liters per square meter in one hour.
