“I knew what was coming and what I was going to face, this is not an easy race,” were the words of Ariel Concha de Parral, winner of the general classification of the ninth version of the Vuelta Master that brought together 145 cyclists from different parts of the country.
The third and final stage that took place this Sunday morning considered rural routes of Chillán, Portezuelo, Malloa, Confluencia, among other roads, with an extension of approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, which reveals the complexity of the test pedal race that lasted two days and was organized by the Chillán Cycling Group and the support of the Municipality of Chillán, through the Sports Directorate.
Among the winners, the applaudable participation of Traudy Muñoz also stands out, who won the general classification in the women’s category.
The mayor of Chillán, Camilo Benavente, made it clear that the commune is a benchmark for cycling and that is why future national-level competitions are anticipated. “Cycling is lived with a lot of passion, people came from different parts of the country which for us is very attractive, which means that in Chillán there is a race that is very well coordinated and consolidates, people value that.”
The president of the Chillán Cycling Group, Francisco Balboa, was satisfied with the event that is already projected for a decade of life. “In the end we brought it forward in a good way for the participants, they are the protagonists, we only help, we are satisfied, we thank everyone, the mayor and the Municipality.”
The next challenge of the Cycling Group and the Municipality of Chillán is the Ascension to Los Nevados, scheduled from February 16 to 18.
