Parma under Bernabe crushes Milan

The Fonseca era at Milan has not started well. After a painful 2-2 draw with Torino, the Milanese, without the injured Morata, fell at the stadium of newly promoted Parma, who deservedly won 2-1 thanks to a very organized performance, taking advantage of the defects of a still very fragile rival defense.

Pecchia’s men played a spectacular first half that ended with a one-goal lead, but it could have been several more. The Ducalis left possession to the Rossoneri, but created a lot of danger with very fast transitions armed with the quality of Bernabé and Dennis Man, who scored the goal that opened the scoring after just two minutes.

The Romanian finished off a great collective play that ended with a switch of play for Valeri, who found the striker in the area from the left with a low cross.

A brilliant Parma with clear ideas continued to add chances and it was not until the last 10 minutes of the first half that Milan began to show signs of life, giving Suzuki work with Okafor and a header from Pavlovic, whose performance was positive despite the result.

The home side gave Milan another scare just before the break with two chances wasted by Mihaila, who were saved by Maignan, but they lost steam at the start of the second half.

Milan returned to the pitch with intensity and gave a warning by hitting the crossbar in the 47th minute, with a Reijnders strike. After a goal disallowed for Bonny due to offside and another great chance for Man, Fonseca’s men equalised thanks to a great combination between Theo and Leao, with the Portuguese who penetrated to the end and found Pulisic in the six-yard box, who pushed the ball between the posts.

Just when a Rossoneri surge in search of a comeback was expected, Parma struck again with one of their transitions. In the 79th minute, after a long pass from Valeri, Almqvist got past Emerson Royal and with a cross he assisted Cancellieri, who had replaced Sohm in the 59th minute and celebrated his first goal for his new team.
