Parliament security breach: Lalit Jha, the main mastermind, was arrested in the incident of protesting by trespassing into the chamber from the visitors gallery of the Parliament. Lalit Jha surrendered to the police last night. Lalit reached Kartavya Patha police station with another person. Kartavya Patha police later handed over Lalit to the Delhi Police’s special cell. Four other suspects arrested for carrying out the attack have been charged with terrorism under the U.S. Unlawful Activities Act (UAPA). Sagar Sharma and his accomplice Manoranjan protested by jumping into the chamber from the visitors’ gallery.. They were subdued by MPs and security personnel who shouted slogans by releasing yellow gas from canisters. At the same time, Amol Shinde and Neelam Devi protested outside the Parliament.

1. Arrested Lalit Mohan Jha is the mastermind of the incident which created tension by storming into the Lok Sabha on the anniversary of the Parliament attack. The Delhi Police Special Cell has taken him into custody and is interrogating him. Police also found that Jha had shared the video of the attack with his accomplice on WhatsApp. Lalit was absconding until yesterday.

Opposition parties created a ruckus in both the Houses of Parliament demanding that Home Minister Amit Shah make a statement on the issue. 14 opposition MPs, including one in the Rajya Sabha, were suspended for disrupting parliamentary proceedings. Those suspended include Manickam Tagore, Kanimozhi, PR Natarajan, VK Sreekanthan, Benny Bahnan, K Subramaniam, S Venkatesan and Mohammad Javed from the Lok Sabha and Derek O’Brien of the Trinamool Congress from the Rajya Sabha.
