According to a study, prices in car parks have increased by 8% in 2024. In Marseille, the increase in prices for the monthly rental of a secure space reaches 25%. Inflation which adds to the rise in the cost of living and which weakens the finances of the French.

At the top of the ranking of cities where parking is the most expensive in France, we find, unsurprisingly, Paris. This year, you have to pay on average a little more than 207 euros for the monthly rental of a place in the capital. 15 euros more than last year.
An increase of more than 25% in Marseille
Next comes Marseille, where the increase in prices is even more spectacular: +30 euros in one year, an increase of 25%. The Phocaean city is followed by Lyon and Toulouse. Prices which can be explained quite logically by the lack of space.
“You are aware that there are a certain number of municipalities which have decided to significantly reduce the space for cars in the city, this is the case of Paris, which wishes to eliminate half of its parking spaces. And we also have a demand which remains quite strong. So, we rather have a trend of inflation which is a general context which does not spare parking unfortunately”, underlines Aurélien Beaumont, marketing director at ZenPark
You have to pay nearly 88 euros per month on average in France for secure parking. And even if there are reductions in certain cities, overall, parking prices have increased by 8% in one year, which is more than inflation.
