A no-parking sign above the entrance to the parking garage at the Sternmatt 1 school in Baar is causing confusion. zentralplus explains what the supposed ban is all about.
A user on Facebook writes of a “perfect opportunity for carnival”, where a photo of the Baar parking garage including the no-parking sign has been circulating since Sunday evening. He pays taxes for this stupidity, says another user angrily. The sign signals that children are forbidden to drive to school, says a third, amused. The no-parking sign is causing derision and ridicule in the Baar Facebook group.
It is located directly above the entrance to the underground parking garage at the new Sternmatt 1 school building in Baar. It seems obvious that the installation of the traffic signal must have been an oversight. After all, Baar is unlikely to want to do without the more than 100 parking spaces and the associated chunk of money for the municipal coffers.
What the Baar parking ban sign is all about
zentralplus has therefore contacted Silvan Meier, media spokesperson for the municipality of Baar.
The no parking sign was installed by a tradesman late on Friday afternoon, says Meier. He was tasked with installing the black and white bar and the sign with the height indication above the entrance to the parking garage. The no parking sign, on the other hand, should have been installed in a parking space in the underground garage, Meier continued.
Municipality has errors corrected immediately
The caretaker apparently discovered the mistake. He immediately contacted the municipality of Baar on Saturday morning and reported the mishap, says Meier. “This Monday morning, the incorrectly mounted sign was already removed,” concludes the media spokesperson.
The proof of this is provided by a Facebook user who apparently wanted to see the situation for herself. “This is what it looks like now,” she writes and posts a photo showing the entrance to the underground parking garage – without any no-parking signs.
