Asvel is gradually restructuring its workforce. After the departures of Elie Okobo and Chris Jones and the arrivals of the French Nando de Colo and Amine Noua, the recent French champion announced on Friday the arrival of two outsiders: the American leader Parker Jackson-Cartwright and the international Belgian Retin Obasohan.
Passed in 2020-2021 by Saint-Quentin, where he was elected MVP of Pro B, Parker Jackson-Cartwright (26 years old, 1.80 m) played last season in Bonn (Germany), where he was elected best player of the Championship. At the same time, Retin Obasohan (29 years old, 1.88m), capable of playing as a winger, was the offensive leader of Hapoel Jerusalem (Israel), with 16.8 points and 5.1 assists on average. In the Belgium national team, he had a similar points average (15 points) in qualifying matches for the 2023 World Cup this year.
These arrivals were hailed by Asvel coach TJ Parker, who boasted in a statement: aggressiveness and speed ball in hand by Jackson-Cartwright, and the game volume » d’Obasohan.
