Former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon and former Seoul Mayor Kim Min-woong, who was handed over to trial for disclosing the identity of a victim of sexual harassment, were sentenced to probation in the first trial.

The Seoul Eastern District Court today (12th) sentenced former professor Kim, who was indicted for violating confidentiality under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Violence, to six months in prison and one year of probation.

The court said, “Considering Professor Kim’s social status, the post is expected to have a high propagation power, but it seems there is an intention to disclose the real name of the victim by posting an article containing the victim’s personal information.”

He continued, “The victim is complaining of secondary harm and is pleading for severe punishment once morest the accused, and the guilt of the accused is heavy.”

Previously, in December 2020, Professor Kim was handed over to trial on charges of exposing the victim’s real name by disclosing a photo of a birthday letter sent to former Mayor Park by a victim who worked in the secretary’s office at the time of former Mayor Park’s office on his SNS. .
