It has been pointed out that Justice Minister candidate Han Dong-hoon is not meeting the deadline for submitting a written response to a personnel hearing. It is said that the schedule of the personnel hearing was postponed once to the 9th, but the schedule was delayed because the deadline for submission had already passed.
On the 6th, Minjoo Park, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on his Facebook page, “An answer to a candidate’s written question has not yet arrived.” Rep. Park serves as a secretary for the Democratic Party in the Legislative and Judiciary Committee of the National Assembly.
Rep. Park explained, “According to Article 7(6) of the Personnel Hearings Act, a written questionnaire is sent to the candidate five days before the hearing, and the candidate is required to send an answer 48 hours before the hearing schedule.”
“Accordingly, the Judiciary Committee delivered a written inquiry to a candidate on the 29th of last month, and one candidate should have submitted an answer by the 2nd.”
He continued, “It was the night of the 3rd that the hearing was rescheduled to the 9th, but there was no response to a written inquiry until May 2nd,” he said.
Rep. Park said, “The situation in which the hearing might not be conducted properly was caused by a candidate, but a response from the West has yet to arrive.”
He also urged, “If you want a proper personnel hearing, please do not waste time and calculate, and submit a written answer immediately.”
