Park Ji-hyeon, former co-chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, argued that lawmaker Lee Jae-myung should state his position on the party’s disapproval of his candidacy in the election.
Former Vice Chairman Park Ji-hyun said on his SNS today, “Now is the time for Rep. Jae-myung Lee.” “Rep. Jae-myung Lee, I think it’s time to say whether I should be allowed to run for the party’s representative election or if I should be prevented from leaving. ” he wrote.
Former Vice Chairman Park said, “Please tell me if you really believe that electing ‘Eo Dae-myung’ without me is the way to innovate the party and win the next general election.” I have served as a public official and a member of the party, so please tell me if it is reasonable to say that I am not eligible, who contributed to the presidential election, served as the non-chairman, and ranked third in the approval rating.”
He continued, “I took on the role of the vice chairperson and insisted on expanding youth nominations in local elections, controlling the speed of inspection, cooperating for people’s livelihood, and stern response to sexual violence cases. Now, a large number of people have appeared in the party representative election, and as much as I, who cried for reflection and innovation for the Democratic Party, is blocking it, saying it is unconditional even though there is a political judgment rule,” he wrote.
“I decided to run as party leader to keep the Democratic Party’s promise to innovate into a party that captures the voices of young people and women,” he said. Please clarify your position that should be allowed.”
