‘Post Jang Mi-ran’ Park Hye-jeong (19, Ansan Technical High School) won the 2022 Asian Junior Weightlifting Championships with an overwhelming record even though she suffered physical difficulties due to failure to adapt to the local area.
Park Hye-jeong took first place in all three categories in the women’s heavyweight division (over 87 kg) held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on the 25th, raising 115 kg, jerking 155 kg, and totaling 270 kg.
On this day, Park Hye-jeong tried only the first period of raising and the second period of jerking to prevent injuries.
In the weightlifting competition, opportunities are given up to the 3rd round of each raise and jerk.
Park Hye-jung lifted 115 kg in the first period of the hike, and then gave up on the second and third periods.
Park Hye-jeong, who failed at 155 kg in the first stage of Jerk, confirmed the championship by lifting 155 kg in the second stage, and ended the match as it was.
2nd place in this weight class was Isamel Sanshizbayeva (19, Kazakhstan) with a total of 234 kg (incise 104 kg, jerk 130 kg).
The total difference between Park Hye-jung and Sanshizbayeva was 36 kg.
Park Hye-jung posted on her social network service (SNS) following the game, “(During the competition), the average temperature in Uzbekistan was 43 degrees Celsius.
As a heavyweight (the higher the weight, the better), I kept losing weight and my body kept sagging.”
However, even if he was not in good physical condition, he had no match for the Asian Junior stage.
At the World Junior Championships held in Heraklion, Greece in May of this year, Park Hye-jeong took first place in all three categories with a raise of 120 kg, a jerk of 161 kg, and a total of 281 kg.
For Park Hye-jung, who won the World Junior stage, the stage for Asia Junior was narrow.
Although he was not in good physical condition, he managed to get three gold medals with plenty of time.
Park Hye-jung’s total personal best record is 290 kg.
Except for Li Won-won (China), who holds a world record (total of 335 kg) on the senior stage, there is no one to threaten Park Hye-jung.
