The Vaudoises are the most represented Swiss women in politics since the introduction of federal women’s suffrage in 1971. If, in cantonal comparison, over time, they have been more elected than their neighbors, they are still today only a third in the Grand Council and barely more (37%) in the National Council. The Council of States will become 100% male once more this fall, the environmentalist senator Adèle Thorens having given up seeking a new mandate.
