Paris: three criminals arrested after a burglary at Vincent Cassel

The actor Vincent Cassel was robbed overnight from Sunday to Monday at his home in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. Around 4 a.m., the police were called for a burglary committed on Boulevard de Ménilmontant. They surprise three suspects carrying electronic equipment before arresting them.

At the scene of the theft, officials find that the apartment has been completely searched. “The canopy of his home was broken,” said a source close to the case. And that’s probably where they got in.” The three criminals were placed in police custody in the premises of the territorial security of Paris. “Vincent Cassel was absent at the time of the events, his assistant was contacted so that he might take stock of what was stolen”. The authors – an 18-year-old major and two minors who are from the borough – were brought to the courthouse on Wednesday. The oldest should appear before the criminal court and the other two will be presented before the judge for children.

Already robbed in 2009 in the same apartment

Aged 55, Vincent Cassel is a French actor. It was revealed during the 1990s by the young director Mathieu Kassovitz, with the film La Haine, shot in Chanteloup-les-Vignes (Yvelines), before leading a brilliant film career. In 2009, his apartment was robbed while the closing ceremony of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival was taking place.

One or more thugs had entered through a terrace in this four-storey building. The thieves had seized jewelry estimated at 80,000 euros as well as two computers and the Italian passport of his then companion, actress Monica Bellucci.
