Paris Saint-Germain acquires Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona. The team officially announced the arrival of the star. The club has acquired the French forward for £43.5 million (€50.4 million). Barca coach Xavi confirmed earlier this month that Dembele wants to leave the club.
Dembele has signed a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 champions. “Delighted to join Paris Saint-Germain and can’t wait to play in the PSG jersey,” said Dembele. The 26-year-old has been with Barcelona since 2016. Although often sidelined due to injury, he regained his fitness last season and performed well.
The player has two years remaining on his contract with Barcelona. Barca coach Xavi confirmed earlier this month that Dembele wants to leave the club. Xavi tried to keep the star but to no avail. The player came to Barcelona from Dortmund. Meanwhile, France striker Mbappe and Brazil forward Neymar have been left out of PSG’s squad to face Lorient in Saturday’s Ligue 1 opener.
