Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier said that Kylian Mbappe is a smart enough player to create spaces while enjoying the freedom to play alongside Argentine Lionel Messi and Brazilian Neymar.

It seemed as if the French international, Kylian Mbappe, was questioning the tactics and style of play in Paris Saint-Germain, when he admitted last week that he finds more freedom to play with his country.

The 23-year-old’s comments came following his country’s 2-0 victory over Austria, which saw him participate alongside striker Olivier Giroud, both of whom scored a goal.

But while Gallitter expressed confidence in his team’s ability to deal with a player with Giroud’s abilities on his list, he denied that his team had any problem in making the most possible use of Mbappe in attack.

“I don’t think that’s a lack of freedom, with Giroud he has a player who opens up spaces for him,” Gallier said before Paris Saint-Germain’s match with his former club Nice in the French league on Saturday.

He added, “We don’t have a player with the same style here, but he has enough intelligence and glimpses with Messi and Neymar to pass the ball to him in his preferred spaces.”

“We are absolutely convinced that we need a fourth player in that place in a different way, but that player did not join us in the transfer window, unfortunately,” the Paris Saint-Germain coach explained.

He continued: “The technical understanding between Neymar, Leo and Kylian is completely different from what is happening with him in the national team.”
