After the Covid-19 pandemic, it is good to be at the cinema, in dark rooms. But with the summer, isn’t it even better to find the 7th art on the big screen…and in the open air? This was already the case at the end of June at the Domaine de Saint-Cloud, with the traditional “Film under the stars” which celebrated its 17th edition this year.
Other municipalities take over in July, and offer the same concept of outdoor movie nights. In Vaucresson, for example, this takes place on July 2. From 10 p.m., installed on the plain of Beauvillier, a screen will broadcast the animated film Tous en Scène, for a free screening without reservation. You can take advantage of the deckchairs installed or sit directly in the grass.
Courbevoie is thinking big, with a weekend of open-air cinema. Only one meeting point for this weekend: the Espace sportif Jean-Pierre Rives. And once more, free sessions open to all. The doors will open, on each of the two evenings, at 6 p.m., and the screening will begin at 10:45 p.m. On July 1, the animated film Azur and Asmar (2006) will be shown. And for the evening of July 2, a more recent blockbuster will be broadcast, for an atmosphere full of magic, and that’s an understatement: Fantastic Beasts 2 – The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018).
At La Garenne-Colombes, we decided to extend the concept for a whole month, by offering not one, not two, but four outdoor cinema evenings. Every Saturday in July (except July 2), spectators can gather in the evening at the Wangen-Im-Allgaü park, and the films will be shown at nightfall, starting at 9:30 p.m. the program proposed by the municipality? Here once more, recent successes: OSS 117, Red Alert in Black Africa on July 9, Wonder Woman 1984 on July 16, Cruella on July 23, and Jungle Cruise on July 30. All sessions are also free, and reservations are no longer required.
Whatever session you choose to attend, plan a throw for the evening, and maybe some chairs if all the ones set up are occupied. Do not hesitate to inquire with your municipalities to find out if other evenings will be scheduled. And last thing: good session to all!
