During our engaging 16-minute conversation, Paris Hilton enthusiastically peppers her dialogue with terms like “hot,” “iconic,” and “sliving”—a clever blend of “slaying” and “living”—approximately once every minute. This vibrant energy is the hallmark we’ve come to associate with Paris the persona. This lively exchange likely sets the tone for her exciting new venture as the inaugural host of Guest DJ, a fresh series launched on Supernatural, Meta Quest’s state-of-the-art virtual reality fitness application. As the host, Hilton—who humorously labels herself an “undercover nerd” enamored with all things tech—has meticulously curated a playlist and provided the voiceovers for an invigorating workout led by Supernatural coach Raneir Pollard. “I will provide the beats, I’ll provide the words of encouragement and that energy, [and Pollard] will be the one who tells us what to do,” Hilton explains to ELLE.com. “I’m the pro of sliving, and he’s the pro of working out.”
When it came time to assemble the track list, Hilton was quick to include her lively single “Chasin’”, featuring the talented Meghan Trainor from her latest album, Infinite Icon. “It’s my favorite song to work out to,” she asserts. “It’s like an anthem. My son loves it. Just the other day, he went to school and asked everyone, ‘Play ‘Chasin’.’ He’s only like a year and a half!”
In addition to her own tracks, she selected a range of “iconic songs from some of my favorite icons,” such as Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” and Donna Lewis’s classic “I Love You Always Forever.” Speaking on the latter, she reminisces about a remarkable performance, saying, “This one is a sick remix I played at Tomorrowland in Belgium in front of like, 100,000 people. People were crying and dancing and singing. It’s really cool to be able to bring that into this new world.” When Charli XCX comes up in conversation, particularly about her song “Boys,” I inquire if she found herself working out to brat music this summer. “I’m the original brat, so yes. And I love Charli. I’m so proud of her and everything she’s done. It’s very fun, and it’s very me, and I love it.”
When Hilton is the one exercising, the soundtrack often reflects her personal taste. “When I’m working out, which I usually do at my house in my Sliving Spa, I just listen to my albums on repeat,” she elaborates. “Dancing to ‘Bad Bitch Academy’ puts you in such a mood. And Megan Thee Stallion killed it on that song. That always really motivates me. ‘Legacy,’ that one is so inspirational. [Infinite Icon] just makes me feel so proud.” When I mention that’s very Mariah Carey of her, she smiles and acknowledges: “She’s iconic.” Hilton continues, “I’m listening to everything [fans] would expect from me. It’s icons only, bitch. I listen to me, Britney, Madonna, Christina, Mariah, Janet. Katy Perry I love, too.”
Despite her steadfast music preferences, Hilton admits her approach to fitness and wellness has evolved over the years. Reflecting on her life before motherhood, Hilton comments, “Sliving was my cardio, just going out all the time, going to clubs, music festivals, all of that.” Nowadays, with two young children and a hectic professional life, she finds herself gravitating towards Pilates a few times a week or opting for virtual reality workouts.
Now, she also enjoys the advantages of her beloved Sliving Spa, a personal wellness oasis brimming with advanced machinery, including a cryotherapy machine, a hyperbaric chamber, and a HydraFacial device. “I can be at home and doing calls or working while doing a facial,” she reveals. “That’s another way to be a multitasking queen.”
This multitasking mentality comes naturally to her. The multi-hyphenate, who recently dropped an exciting handbag collection at Walmart, is also buzzing with anticipation for the premiere of Paris & Nicole: The Encore on Peacock, set to air on December 12. This much-anticipated special showcases Hilton alongside her best friend Nicole Richie, reuniting 21 years after the original run of their iconic reality show, The Simple Life. “It’s very nostalgic. It’s emotional,” she reflects on The Encore, which will delve into their current lives and revisit families they met during The Simple Life in Arkansas. “Nicole and I have been having so much fun. We literally just get to hang out every day. It just feels like we’re kids again. Nobody makes me laugh the way she does.”
“The fans have been asking for this,” Hilton beams, “and we are so excited to have done this, because we love them so much. And yeah, it’s going to be iconic.”
