After taking over the French capital club Paris FC, the new owner Antoine Arnault spoke about the goals with the neighbor of the industry leader PSG – and also about what the collaboration with Jürgen Klopp should look like.
The extremely wealthy Arnault family, owners of the luxury goods giant LVMH, is taking over the second division club with Red Bull as a partner at their side. The Arnaults hold 52 percent of the shares, while the shower manufacturer secures 11 percent. 30 percent will initially remain with the previous owner Pierre Ferracci. By 2027, the Arnault family will increase its ownership to 80 percent and Red Bull will then own 15 percent.
According to Antoine Arnault, whose father Bernard is the richest man in the world with a fortune of 221 billion euros, they consciously chose Red Bull as a partner in order to make it to the top with the expertise of the parent company of Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. Jürgen Klopp also plays an important role. The long-time team manager of Liverpool FC will start at Red Bull as the new Global Head of Soccer from January 1, 2025 and will also advise Paris FC in this role.
Arnault presented his plans at a press conference. He said: “I have spoken to Klopp several times. He is very, very excited to work with us.”
The 47-year-old businessman continued: “We don’t come alone. Red Bull is at our side because we know what we’re good at and what we’re not good at. We’re good at management, but not at football ventures.”
He expects a lot from the collaboration, especially in identifying and training talent: “Paris probably has the largest talent pool in the world, only Sao Paulo can keep up. Red Bull’s revolutionary data tools will help us a lot in scouting.”
