On the penultimate day of the 2024 Paris Olympics, France successfully passed the 60-medal milestone.

Volleyball remains on the rooftops of Mount Olympus

The Blues are making international volleyball history. The Tokyo Olympic champion French men’s volleyball team successfully defended its title. In the final, the French team easily defeated the Polish team 25-19, 25-20, 25-23.

Althéa Laurin in French Taekwondo History

The record gold medal is hers! Althéa Laurin becomes Olympic champion in Taekwondo over 67 kg. The Habs defeated Svetlana Osipova in the final. She won her 16th French title, a modern Olympic record for France.

French players are no longer empty-handed!

The French track and field team finally won a medal at the Paris Olympics! In the 100m hurdles, Cyrena Samba-Mayela believed she was going to win gold in a great race, but she still won with a time of 12 inches 34 seconds silver medal. American Marcel Russell won the gold medal in 12 minutes and 33 seconds.

silver medal handball player

Neither handball player completed the pass. Olivier Krumbholz’s men, who won the title in Tokyo, faced an impressive Norwegian team in the final (29-21). So while French handball won two titles in Tokyo, there was no gold medal in Paris.

Team USA is too strong for the Blues

Unsurprisingly, this level is too high for the French basketball team. Despite the Blues’ stellar performance, Team USA wasn’t fazed by the victory (98-87). Just like in Tokyo, France left with the money.

broken money

The breakthrough was not unanimously recognized at this Paris Olympics, but it still earned France a medal. Dany Dann was powerless against the Canadian Phil Wizard (0-3, 4 votes to 23) in the final, but the Frenchman took silver on Concorde.

Over 800m too tight

He was one of France’s greatest hopes in track and field: Gabriel Touard ultimately failed to reach the podium in the 800 meters. After almost the entire first two races of the race, the Frenchman exploded in the final straight to finish sixth in 1:42.14.

Oriane Bertone ranked 8th in rock climbing

19-year-old French woman Oriane Bertone failed to compete for the podium in the rock climbing competition. The French climber finished eighth and last in the final, which was won by heavy favorite Janja Garnbret of Slovenia.
