The Indonesian contingent is preparing to begin its struggle at the 2024 Paris Paralympics which will last until September 9. The opening ceremony will be held in Paris on Thursday (29/8) early morning.

This is the first time Paris has hosted the summer Paralympics. The opening ceremony will again be held outside a stadium like the 2024 Olympics. The Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysees will be the stage for the celebrations.

Artistic Director of the Paris Paralympic Opening Ceremony, Thomas Jolly, said that the opening of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will be the first breakthrough with a monumental and popular concept.

Organizers promise a spectacle that will showcase Paralympic athletes and positive values that will unite the world in the Paralympic spirit.

“From the Champs-Elysees to the Place de la Concorde, I hope to create a spectacle that will transform the heart of Paris, with a show that has never been seen before,” Jolly said as reported by the Olympics website.

The opening ceremony will begin with a parade down the iconic Champs-Elysees involving up to 184 delegations from around the world. The celebrations are open to all with 6,000 athletes and officials.

The parade will then continue at the Place de la Concorde. Working closely with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF) and relevant authorities, the Paris 2024 Paralympics will ensure universal accessibility to all aspects of the ceremony so that athletes, participants and spectators can enjoy the spectacle in an inclusive way.
