While the torch was lit in Olympia and began its 5,000 km journey across Greece with its final destination in Paris, the countdown to the Games also began. On April 17th, there are 100 to be precise at the inaugural ceremony. An outdoor event, along the Seine, which will be open to 300 thousand spectators compared to the million initially estimated, in compliance with the security measures made necessary by the resurgence of the terrorist threat.
The countdown has also started for the companies involved in the Games such as Technogym, the Official Supplier of the Games and which has been working for months with the Olympic Committee in designing the spaces in which the Olympic and Paralympic champions will train starting from next July and for the entire duration of competitions. Product installation activities within the centers are starting in recent days.
Preparation centers
In Paris, Technogym will set up 29 centers for the preparation of athletes before and during the Olympic Games. The main training centre, equipped for the needs of all sports disciplines, will be the Olympic and Paralympic Village in Paris Saint Denis, while other training centers designed for different disciplines will be located at the competition venues and Olympic Villages in Lille, Marseille and Tahiti. A total number of 1,200 pieces of equipment will be made available to the 14,900 athletes – Olympic and Paralympic, coming from over 200 different countries – engaged in 32 different Olympic and 22 Paralympic disciplines. Technogym will also provide a team of professional athletic trainers to support athletes and all related services (configuration, installation and technical assistance). Paris 2024 athletes will have the opportunity to train with the widest range of products in the world, capable of covering all areas of athletic preparation such as cardio, strength and functional training. All Technogym smart equipment is integrated into the Technogym Ecosystem and will allow athletes to access their personal training program both on the equipment and via the Technogym App on their smartphone.
