USA: After bank robbery: Parents recognize their children in the mugshot

Because they robbed a bank in Houston in mid-March, the FBI was looking for a gang of young robbers. Now the children have been arrested.

  • Three bank robbers have been arrested in the USA.

  • The FBI spoke of “little hoodlums” in their appeal.

  • In fact, the perpetrators are even younger than expected at eleven, twelve and 16 years old.

In the US state of Texas, three boys aged eleven, twelve and 16 were arrested following a bank robbery. They are “little rascals,” according to an official statement on Wednesday. They allegedly robbed a Wells Fargo branch in Houston on March 14. The FBI posted a picture of the trio on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, showing all three wearing hoodies in the bank’s lobby.

Thieves handed out threatening messages

Local station ABC 13 reported that the boys gave the cashier a threatening message and then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The parents of two of the boys recognized their sons in the mugshots. The third alleged perpetrator was recognized by a police officer. A fight took place between the two.

As the FBI office in Houston wrote when the camera footage was released, eyewitnesses initially estimated the thieves to be 14 to 18 years old. Individual users also made fun of the incident on Twitter: “Imagine being robbed by children! “I’m laughing my ass off,” writes one user.

“Mother was probably a getaway driver”

Another speculates that one of the mothers must have acted as a getaway driver, since the thieves are not yet old enough to drive themselves. “They needed VBucks, leave them alone,” jokes one user, referring to the in-game currency in the video game Fortnite, which has enjoyed enormous popularity in recent years.
