parents invited to do antigenic tests on their child if the self-tests are missing

Contrary to what the Lyon academy has indicated, parents are invited to carry out antigenic tests on their child in case of contact on D + 2 and D + 4 if ever they cannot find self-tests in the pharmacy. The protocol therefore remains unchanged.

No reduction in the health protocol for students at school. Information circulated on Wednesday on social networks related to the tests that parents must perform on their children when a case of Covid occurs in their class.

Guislaine David, co-secretary general and spokesperson for SNUipp-FSU, notably relayed on Twitter an email from the Académie de Lyon which explains that in the absence of self-tests, families are exempted from testing their children at D + 2 and D + 4 following the occurrence of a case among their comrades.

Contacted by BFMTV, the Ministry of Education confirms that this is an error of the academy and that the health protocol remains unchanged: in the event of a shortage of self-tests in pharmacies, parents who must test their children on D + 2 and D + 4 will be able to return to these pharmacies with their children to do antigenic tests. They can also opt for a PCR test.

The rule therefore remains as follows: students in elementary school classes where a positive case of Covid-19 has been diagnosed must undergo three tests four days apart. A first, PCR or antigen, must be carried out the day the child learns to be a contact case, a second on D + 2 and a third on D + 4.

The Ministry of Health finally specifies that new stocks of self-tests are arriving from this Wednesday in pharmacies, while many parents testify to difficulties in obtaining them since the start of the school year.
