The delivery men of Intelcom, an Amazon subcontractor, are criticized in Bas-St-Laurent a few days before the Holidays.
Several citizens do not seem to receive the packages they have ordered.
“I quit Amazon, not because of Amazon I quit, because of Intelcom,” says one customer.
For months, testimonials have been multiplying on social media. As the holidays approach, residents of Rimouski and the surrounding area complain that the delivery company Intelcom, which delivers orders for Amazon in particular, repeatedly loses their purchases.
“Three out of five deliveries that it’s badly done. And instead of saying they didn’t deliver it to me, they’re telling Amazon I returned it.”
The Consumer Protection Office is aware of the situation. Since the beginning of the year, at least seven complaints have been filed once morest Intelcom.
“The complaints are very similar. These are all situations where the consumer says he never received the package he ordered,” explains Charles Tanguay of the Consumer Protection Office.
Several remedies are available to those who have never received their packages. Even if the delivery company loses the order, the retailer is responsible for ensuring that the transaction is completed.
“The merchant has an obligation to ensure that you receive the good. And that doesn’t just mean leaving it at the doorstep. He really needs to make sure you have it in your hands. And so, if that’s not the case, the recourse, well, it’s once morest the merchant,” says Mr. Tanguay.
For its part, Intelcom tells us that the holiday season is the busiest time of the year. In an exchange of emails, she assures that: each package will be delivered and we understand the dissatisfaction of consumers affected by these delays. “We apologize for this and are doing everything we can to quickly mitigate these delays.”
The company tells us that the situation should return to normal within the next few days.
