Paraguayan wins Brazilian Amateur Golf tournament

Asuncion, IP Agency.-This is Benjamín Fernández, who brilliantly won the 93rd Brazilian Amateur Golf Tournament, which took place in the city of Sao Paulo.

Fernández led the tournament from start to finish and finished the four days of matches with -9 with rounds of 67-71, 68 and 69, second was Andrey Xavier with -4 (73-74-65 and 68) and third was Matheus Balestrin with -1 (77-69-69 and 68).

In the women’s category, the best Paraguayan was Giovanna Fernández, who shared 8th place with 301 shots, plus 17 with rounds of 73, 79, 73 and 76 respectively.

While María Bethania Fernández finished in 17th position with 315 strokes, +31 with rounds of 82, 74, 79 and 80, the champion was Uruguayan Lousiane Gauthier with 284, par for the course.

The most important amateur tournament in Brazil was attended by 77 players (56 men and 21 women) with the presence of the main Brazilian amateurs, as well as golfers from Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. The tournament was valid for the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and for the National Ranking.

The 93rd Brazilian Amateur Golf Championship was organized by the Brazilian Golf Confederation, with the support of the São Fernando Golf Club, the Paulista Golf Federation and the institutional support of the Brazilian Olympic Committee.
