Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Paraguayan delegation in South Korea, made up of Government and Itaipu authorities, continues to visit the leading industries in the manufacture of electric vehicles and auto parts, in order to learn about the latest technologies and evaluate their implementation in Paraguayan territory.
The previous day, a technical tour was conducted at the facilities of the DNA Motors and KGM Commercial firms.
The delegation is made up of the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Javier Giménez; the Vice Minister of Energy, Mauricio Bejarano; the Paraguayan General Director, Justo Zacarías Irún; the General Director of Industrial Policy of the MIC, Aníbal Giménez; the Vice Director of the Task Paraguay Center, José Kim; the Advisor on Electric Mobility, Luis López Lafuente; the Financial Director, Rafael Lara; and the Executive Director of the Itaipu Technological Park (PTI-PY), Carlos Mercado.
Luis López Lafuente, Binacional’s Electric Mobility advisor, said that the day was very productive, given that they were able to see first-hand the latest trends in the field of electromobility and its corresponding associated systems.
In the case of DNA Motors, electric motorcycles were tested, which are powered by clean and efficient energy. They also confirmed the battery charging systems used in South Korea, which are crucial for the autonomy and performance of electric vehicles.
“Innovation and sustainability come together in this visit. We explored the latest technologies in electric mobility with the help of experts. It was a unique experience to understand the present and future of urban mobility,” said the professional.
The official delegation then travelled to the KGM Commercial headquarters to inspect first-hand the model of the electric buses that will go to Paraguay as part of the donation made by the South Korean government.
The cooperation announced by the Asian country includes 5 buses and 2 cargo centres, as well as motorcycles and small trucks.
The trip of the Paraguayan representatives is carried out within the framework of the Project of Assistance for the Development of Commercial and Industrial Cooperation. The objective of the technical tour is to learn about the experiences of the development of the South Korean industry of environmentally friendly vehicles in situ and to strengthen the industrial policy of the automotive sector in Paraguay.
Activities will continue on Thursday and Friday with visits to other specialized centers.
It is worth remembering that the governments of Paraguay and South Korea are promoting the Task Technology Center Project for the development of the auto parts industry and the Electric Mobility Pilot Plan. Currently, the Task Center is located on the premises of the Electric Mobility Advisory Board of Itaipu (Hernandarias), where Paraguayan specialists who were trained in South Korean industries share and consolidate their knowledge.
The second phase of this ambitious project includes the arrival of a fleet of last-mile buses and trucks, as well as the construction of industrial spaces for training in the PTI-PY business condominium, located in Tacuru Pucu.
