Asuncion, IP Agency.- The inauguration of the Costanera Sur in Asunción was received with enthusiasm by the cycling community. In addition to the presence of thousands of cyclists on the initial route, the new space offers a practice and recreation site for the different modalities.
The Paraguayan Cycling Federation had a prominent presence at the inauguration, with the participation of approximately 200 cyclists. Arturo Garay, representative of the Federation, mentioned that the road cycling, BMX and MTB (Mountain Bike) modalities were present.
The active participation of the cycling community in this event underlines the potential of the new Costanera Sur as an inclusive space for various sports groups, highlights the Ministry of Public Works.
The Avenida Costanera Sur was inaugurated this Saturday with more than 3,000 participants in the bike ride along the new 8.1-kilometer route. Throughout the day, sports activities were offered, with the presence of the Sports Secretariat (SND) and associated federations.
The project It will ease traffic in the south of the capital by connecting Cerro Lambaré with Avenida Colón. It also has a 1,000-meter linear park with 6,000 seedlings for a future green lung for the capital city.
An amphitheater, playgrounds for children and sports and leisure activities complete the space so that citizens can enjoy the view of the Paraguay River.
